Gerry Rooney – Polaris HR
Gerry Rooney is Managing Director of Polaris HR Ltd. As a qualified Human Resources practitioner, Gerry holds an MSc in Human Resource Development, is a Corporate Member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, is a member of the Irish Institute of Training and Development and as a trained mediator is a practising member of the Association for Conflict Resolution. Gerry is an Advanced Practitioner in Workplace Mediation with the International Centre for Dispute Resolution at Sullivan University, Louisville, Kentucky. He is a member of the MII panel of mediators under the Civil Liability Act, 2004. Gerry has also presented on alternative dispute resolution for the workplace in America. He lectures for the NCI off campus faculty in Industrial Relations and HRM. Gerry is also a member of the National Panel of Equality Auditors for the Equality Authority. He has extensive experience in HR management roles, having worked on a variety of projects for public and private sector clients.
Carol Fawsitt – Partner, Hayes Solicitors
Carol established her own practice Fawsitt, Solicitors in 1987 specialising in Employment Law, Family Law, Personal and Commercial Litigation and Property Transactions. Carol also combined a busy successful practice with appointments to public and private bodies. She was a Board Member of the Equality Authority and Chairman of the Authority’s Legal Committee from 1998 to 2007. She previously lectured to the Law Society on Employment Law and was a Tutor on the same topic to the Society's Law School. She merged her practice with Hayes solicitors in December 2006 and is Head of the Employment Department. Carol has over 28 years extensive experience advising and representing both employees and employers, Companies, Trade Unions and Staff Associations on all contentious employment issues arising from the workplace.
Breda O’Malley – Partner, Hayes Solicitors
Breda O'Malley trained with Hayes Solicitors, a medium sized city firm which specialises in employment, commercial, competition and medico-legal work. From 1996 to 2008, she worked in one of the "Big 5"
Irish law firms, where she practised for 8 years in the Employment Group (dispute resolution, litigation, industrial relations, general advisory and corporate transactions) and for 4 years in the Corporate Department working on commercial transactions and general commercial advisory work.
Breda returned to Hayes as a partner in 2008 and continues to represent both employers and employees.
