Full Day

With a new Bill about to introduce important new changes, mediation is likely to have a greater impact in Ireland than ever before. The fact is, however, that only a few organizations actively use it as a means of resolving workplace conflict. Instead, they continue to use standard grievance or dignity at work procedures which often lead to protracted hearings and a huge drain on time and resources as well as cause lasting damage to some workplace relations.

Description

The purpose of this full day seminar is to demonstrate how many instances of workplace conflict can be resolved by mediation rather than by resorting to conventional grievance and dignity at work procedures.

It will show how workplace conflict can be resolved at a very early stage by better trained managers and by directing the residue of disputes towards a constructive mediation process. Delegates will be introduced to a new style "Resolution Procedure" which encourages disputes to be directed towards a mediation process in preference to a grievance procedure and advised how to implement this into internal policies and procedures. Afternoon sessions will consist of carefully crafted exercises designed to illustrate the types of workplace disputes that are best resolved through a mediation process and those that are not.

Why attend this event?
This seminar will pass on the learning from organisations at the forefront of conflict resolution that are now resolving a large amount of workplace disputes quickly and cost effectively by diverting them away from conventional dispute resolution procedures. It will show you how to introduce mediation into internal policies and give you the confidence to know which types of dispute are suited to mediation.
