Mary specialises in employment and equality law advice, both contentious and advisory work. Legal 500 notes that she is ‘very responsive and knowledgeable on equality matters’. She advises employers in relation to many aspects of the employment relationship, including management of organisational change (for example, pay cuts/downsizing), fixed-term, equality and discrimination issues, as well as employment issues arising in the context of mergers and acquisitions and outsourcing arrangements under the European Communities (Protection of Employees on Transfer of Undertakings) Regulations.  She also assists employers in relation to contentious issues arising from disciplinary matters, termination of employment, bullying and harassment investigations, performance management, and the conduct of employee claims.

Mary has wide experience of advising employers in the public and private sector, including those in the third level education sector. Mary regularly lectures on employment related issues, for example, in Public Affairs Ireland and Legal Island and is a member of the Law Society’s Employment and Equality committee.
