Deirdre advises clients in the public and private sector on all aspects of the commencement, management and termination of the employment relationship. She regularly advises on employment law challenges arising from commercial transactions, employment disputes and litigation as well as providing strategic advice on HR issues.

Deirdre frequently appears before the Employment Appeals Tribunal, the Labour Relations Commission, the Labour Court, the Circuit Court, the High Court and the Commercial High Court in employment and industrial relations related cases.

Deirdre’s focus is on crisis prevention rather than crisis management. She is regularly invited by clients to develop and deliver training to HR managers and in-house management on all aspects of employment law and industrial relations.

As a trained mediator, Deirdre has recently dealt with many employment mediations, particularly in the bullying and harassment, interpersonal and industrial relations arenas.

Deirdre is a lecturer and examiner for the Law Society of Ireland and is frequently invited to speak on the topic of employment law and industrial relations by professional bodies in Ireland and the United Kingdom.
