Simon has 16 years experience in a variety of both technical and non-technical roles within the IT / IS sector initially with a highly successful indigenous IT services company, B.I.C Systems Ltd and continuing service after a takeover by BT. 

This experience includes developing, implementing, managing and reviewing information security / technology requirements for both external and internal customers in line with strategic objectives.  His experience covers a broad swath of IT & IS services including but not exhaustively; Information Security management, ISO 27001 ISMS, end to end  IT / IS systems infrastructure, auditing, security, support, managed services, ISP /internet provision (public and private) and training delivery. Simon has a wealth of experience of a host of applications used at all levels and within all of the previously mentioned areas.

Simon’s professional accreditations are an industry recognised testament to his diligent approach to maintaining high standards. He currently includes CISSP, EC Security Analyst / Licensed Pen Tester, Certified Ethical Hacker, MCSE and ITIL Foundation, Websense Certified Security Engineer, HP platforms specialist, amongst others.

Simon holds MoD SC level of security clearance and has experience of working within secure environments covering both private and public sector bodies. Simon is an ISO 27001 lead Auditor whose role also includes developing and maintaining a centre of excellence for Information Security with regard to ISO 27001. Simon is also a convener for a subcommittee of the NSAI (National Standards Association of Ireland) which has input into the development and management of ISO international standards, specifically relating to ICT.
