Biography: |
Teresa has 26 years HR experience, predominantly gained in the Financial Services Sector. However, since co-founding Symbio, she has worked across a broad range of industries, and believes that although cultures may change, the fundamental principles of positive HR practices remain the same. She holds a Bachelor of Laws, a Masters in HR Strategy and is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD. She also attended the Advanced Programme in OD at the University of Columbia, New York. In terms of continuing professional development, Teresa is licensed to use MBTI, EqI and a range of other psychometric tests, which she uses for both selection and coaching purposes. As General Manager, Group HR – Irish Life and Permanent, Teresa was responsible for the following group-wide activities; Organisational Development, Recruitment, Succession Planning, Group Performance Management,Training and Development, Internal Communications, Health & Safety, Payroll and HR Administration. At the time of her departure in Q1, 2006, her team comprised 80 HR professionals. Teresa managed the HR agenda in two major bank mergers, which ultimately brought together Irish Life, Irish Permanent and TSB. One of the key challenges was to integrate 3 different HR divisions, into a Shared Services operation, with a single IT platform and a common set of HR Policies and Procedures. Teresa led this project, and ultimately became Head of this newly created HR division, servicing the needs of the total IL&P Group. Her work was recognised nationally, when her team won the Supreme Award at the CIPD/Watson Wyatt HR Awards in 2005. In the last six years, as a Director of Symbio HR Solutions, she has worked across a broad range of clients such as Enterprise Ireland, Failte Ireland, DAA, IL&P, Real Regulatory, Central Bank, Bloxham Stockbrokers, National Consumer Agency and the DAA. Her main activities have been in the areas of Senior Assessment and Selection, Performance Management, Strategy and Executive Coaching. |
