Biography:

Gerry is Consulting Director with Baker Tilly Ryan Glennon.  . As Consulting Director Gerry is lead consultant in the design and implementation of strategic and tactical HR solutions for an extensive range of clients. His expertise includes leadership and management development, dispute resolution including conflict management, and Equality and diversity in the workplace.

Prior to joining Baker Tilly Ryan Glennon he was Managing Director and founding member of Polaris HR Ltd. Polaris HR merged with Baker Tilly Ryan Glennon in April 2011 

Selected Professional History

Gerry has over 30 years experience in the design and delivery of learning and development initiatives throughout Ireland, in the UK and the United States.

He has a particular expertise in Alternative Dispute Resolution and has carried out over 300 independent investigations. Gerry is also highly qualified in designing and delivering training in leadership skills; performance management; senior executive coaching and development; and strategic planning. Gerry has designed and delivered a successful Leadership and People Management programmes for a number of large organisation in Ireland including financial services, professional services, manufacturing and the public sector. Gerry has also designed and delivered HR programmes for issues such as Grievance and Discipline for a variety of organisations.

Gerry is certified by Psychological AssociatesTM to deliver Dimensional® Model of BehaviourTM Training programmes, and has provided these high quality training solutions to a range of cleints including Financial Services, Healthcare, Transportation, Local Authority, Sales & Marketing, and a number of Skillnets. 

He is a member of the National Audit Panel for the Equality Authority where he has conducted some 30 organisational reviews and equality action plans across a range of sectors, and has provided training to EQUINET- the European Network of Equality Bodies representing some 33 member organizations from 28 EU countries.

In addition to being a skilled trainer and HRD consultant, Gerry is an experienced HR practitioner having worked within the public sector where he served for 18 years as an Officer in the Irish Naval Service, and also as a HR executive in the Local Government Management Services Board. Since 2000 has worked in the private sector.

Gerry is a Practitioner Member of the Mediators Institute of Ireland (MII) where he serves as Member Services and Accreditation Director and sits on the MII Council. Gerry provides a range of Dispute Resolution services in the workplace including Mediation, Arbitration and Investigations.

Gerry holds an MSc in HRD, is a corporate member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management, and a Member of the Irish Institute of Training and Development. and in 2006 became a Certified Advanced Practitioner in Mediation with  the International Centre for Collaborative Solutions at Sullivan University, Louisville, Kentucky USA.
