This case concerned the way that individuals in their place of work, and the general public, were exposed to risks to their safety, health or welfare. The facts in the case concerned the inadequate securing of steel coils on the defendant's lorry and trailer, which resulted in the deaths of 2 motorists. The Court held that a fine for €1 million was just and proportionate given the nature of the omissions on behalf of the company and the subsequent harm caused.
