This case concerned a number of alleged breaches of the Act. The complainant alleged that he had not been paid a premium for working on Sundays or for public holidays. He sought an extension of time under section 27(5) of the Act as his claim was statute barred. He claimed that he had engaged in discussion with the Respondent directly to rectify the issue but after an extended period he realised that the Respondent was delaying matters in an effort to allow the statutory period to pass. On the facts the Court held that no 'reasonable cause' had been shown to justify such an extension. However, the complainant was successful in recovering compensation for holiday leave which he had not
