The Claimant commenced employment with the Respondent organisation in 1998 as a software engineer. In 2003, he changed role to a technical consultant and was then promoted to senior technical consultant.
Evidence was adduced that the Respondent needed to make financial cuts amounting to €1.5 million. An Executive Leadership Team was created comprising of senior managers. They commenced a consultation process which invited the employees to give their views on cost cutting measures. Numerous suggestions were proffered and
