About Antoinette Vahey
Antoinette works exclusively within the Employment Law Department of Ronan Daly Jermyn and advises a broad range of public and private sector clients in a range of industry sectors, including healthcare, pharma; retail; educational and charitable sectors.
She has developed particular expertise in the area of Garda vetting and has kept abreast of best practice as well as recent legislative change in the area particularly the proposed impact of the Vetting Act on organisations dealing with children and vulnerable persons. Some notable clients in this regard include Munster Rugby and the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind.
Antoinette has provided, in conjunction with her colleague Clare Daly, information sessions to those organisations impacted by vetting requirements, including statutory bodies as well as clubs and sporting organisations.
Antoinette advisory experience involves supporting and providing advice and guidance to HR professionals and management from recruitment right through to termination of the employment relationship. She frequently represents clients in contentious matters before the Circuit and High Courts (including applications for injunctive relief) as well as established employment law forums such as the Employment Appeals Tribunal, the Rights Commissioner Service, the Labour Court and the Equality Tribunal.
Antoinette is a frequent contributor to the Legal Island email service and also contributes to the Irish Employment Law Journal and is regularly invited to present at employment seminars and in-house training sessions.
