About this course

As more coronavirus cases are identified across Europe, Irish employers will need to monitor the impact of the outbreak and take steps to protect their employees where necessary. 

 

What is coronavirus?

According to the World Health Organisation, coronaviruses (CoV) are:

"A large family of viruses that cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases".    

Novel coronavirus (COVID-19) is a new strain of coronavirus that can affect your lungs and airways.

The infection is not serious for most people, including children.  However, coronavirus (COVID-19) can cause more severe symptoms for the following people:

  • Those with weakened immune systems
  • 60 years of age and older
  • Those with long-term conditions like diabetes, cancer, high blood pressure, heart disease and lung disease
  • Pregnant women

 

What is the purpose of this FREE course?
