About Ger Deering
Ger is Financial Services and Pensions Ombudsman. The FSPO was established in 2018 to resolve complaints from consumers, including small businesses and other organisations, against financial service or pension providers. The establishment of the FSPO resulted from the merger of the Office of the Pensions Ombudsman and the Financial Services Ombudsman’s Bureau. The FSPO provides an independent, fair, impartial, confidential and free service to resolve complaints through either informal mediation or formal investigation and adjudication.
Prior to his current post, Ger was appointed by the government to deliver the Workplace Relations Reform Programme in 2011. The aim of this reform was to develop a world-class national workplace relations service that became the WRC. Ger has extensive experience in employment relations and reform.
