About Margaret Gorman

Margaret Gorman is a Partner and Head of the Education Law Group at Eversheds Sutherland. She is a leading expert in education law and advises a wide range of first, second and third level institutions on all issues of relevance to them, as well as statutory and public bodies engaged in the education sector. Margaret has a unique client perspective on legal & HR concerns facing those in the education sector as she was Deputy CEO and in-house solicitor for the country’s leading school management organisation.

Margaret acts for hundreds of schools, boards of management, colleges, patrons, trustees, insurers, management bodies and a host of other education providers on contentious and non-contentious matters.

Margaret holds an LLB from Trinity College Dublin (1993) and an LLM in Commercial Law from University College Dublin (1994). She was admitted to the Roll of Solicitors in 1997.

Margaret is a member of the Law Society, the Employment Lawyers Association of Ireland and the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association.

Margaret regularly publishes articles on education law in the general press and on the Eversheds Sutherland website.  She is a regular contributor to Legal Island on education law matters and lectures on Education Law in the Law Society of Ireland.
