About Sheila Spokes

Sheila is a solicitor with ByrneWallace LLP's Employment team. Prior to joining ByrneWallace LLP, Sheila trained with a leading Irish law firm, and qualified into the education/employment law department. As a result, Sheila has particular experience advising public bodies on a wide range of contentious and non-contentious employment law issues.

Sheila has experience advising employers on internal HR disputes, including disciplinary/grievance/dignity at work matters and regulatory/legislative compliance. She has advised on a variety of claims to the WRC/Labour Court, including claims under the Unfair Dismissals Act, Employment Equality Acts, Organisation of Working Time Act, Protection of Fixed Term Workers Act, Payment of Wages Act, Minimum Notice and Terms of Employment Act. She has also advised in relation to judicial review proceedings in the education sector.

In relation to non-contentious matters, Sheila advises on all areas of employment law including equality matters, data protection, redundancy, protected disclosures, bullying and harassment allegations and workplace investigations. Sheila regularly reviews contracts of employment, and HR policy documents for clients.
