About Susan Battye
Susan is a Partner in the firm's Employment, Pensions and Employee Benefit's department.
Susan has represented clients in contentious employment disputes, including unfair dismissals, constructive dismissals, discrimination claims, bullying claims, trade disputes and employment injunctions before the High Court and all employment law fora including the Workplace Relations Commission. She has significant experience in resolving complex employment disputes, including senior executive terminations, negotiating severance packages and drafting compromise agreements. Susan has also dealt with a wide variety of commercial litigation matters.
Susan’s advisory work includes: individual and collective redundancies and corporate restructurings; employment law issues in commercial transactions, including transfer of undertakings arising from mergers and acquisitions and outsourcing arrangements; harmonising employee benefits and entitlements; a broad spectrum of compliance issues, including drafting employment contracts, grievance and disciplinary procedures, drafting and updating staff handbooks, HR policies and codes of conduct and providing employment law training.
Susan is a member of the Law Society’s Employment & Equality Law Committee and has tutored on employment law and civil litigation on the Law Society’s Professional Practice Course and also a member of the Employment Law Association of Ireland and the Dublin Solicitors Bar Association.
